Rita Baunok, a native Hungarian, moved to the suburbs of New York City in 1997. After learning English, Rita earned a liberal arts degree. She then began studying photography at the State University of New York / Westchester Community College and the International Center of Photography in New York, earning another degree, this one in fine arts.
Rita has spent the last several years involved in a number of long-term projects. These include photographs of an outstanding variety of American scenes, from the Amish country in Pennsylvania to the unique nature in the Florida Keys, and from the spectacular Southwest to the streets of Manhattan. In addition, her collection includes selected pictures she has taken on visits to Hungary.
Her work is mainly 35mm film, but recent projects have included digital images as well. She has started to exhibit her photographs in a number of venues and a variety of her images have been selected for juried shows. Rita is a member of the Greenwich Art Society in Connecticut, the Ground Glass Photography Association in New York, the Soho Photo Gallery in Manhattan and the Mamaroneck Artists' Guild in Larchmont, NY.
